Movin On Up

To a big boy bed! Garrett has officially transitioned to a toddler bed. Last night was his first night not in the crib and he loved it! Of course, that was before we moved his toys into his room and before the initial excitement of the big boy bed has worn off...we'll see what happens when he realizes he can just get up and PLAY. :) Despite any craziness this brings on, it was an important step towards being the big brother in a couple of months. We're T-minus 10 weeks or so until Operation Baby. Oh. My. :)

This is my favorite picture of him in the new bed. Can you tell he's excited???

Catching Up part 2

This post is all pictures from the Wildlife Ranch down in San Antonio. We went right when they opened and had the whole place to ourselves for the drive-through portion. Perfect! Garrett had a blast and Russ and I were able to enjoy it with him since Papa was driving. Thanks for a fun and relaxing visit, Nana and Papa!

Catching Up part 1

So, the first half of May went by in a blur of road trips and family visits. All very much fun but leaving me little/no time to blog about any of it. I'm going to post a bunch of pictures in two posts with little descriptions instead of doing separate posts of each trip or visit...I blame the baby (the unborn one!) for me being too tired to do justice to how wonderful each of these trips was. :) For the record, we have just entered the 3rd Trimester for the newest Baby Wells. Bring on the next 3 months!!

Hunting Easter Eggs in Uncle Nate and Aunt Krista's apartment. He loooves the hunt!

Getting in some Grandma time at the neighborhood play area.

Park time! Some of the pics are Pinnacle Mountain and some are in Krista's neighborhood. You'd never know from these pictures that Garrett was getting over a nasty cold and hurled in the ice cream aisle of Walmart just a few short hours later.

Our trip to Austin was all about family. We loved getting to see Aunt Chris (and her big dog Genesis), Granny (Thank you for the shoes!!!), and Grandpa (who is one of the few who can beat Russ at cards).

We attempted to get a family picture on Mother's Day down in San Antonio. Clearly, it went well. Ha! Garrett has decided to yell NO anytime he sees a camera lately, so those were the best we could do. And the balloon hat is at Outback Steakhouse where we enjoyed a yummy lunch with Nana and Papa.
Belated Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, grandmas, aunts, and sisters out there!

Easter 2011

Well, I was worried about how the weather would cooperate for our Easter Egg Hunt this year. But the rain held off until later in the day and Garrett was able to hunt to his heart's content. :) Grandad and Daddy hid the eggs outside before he woke up so we were able to surprise him with them after everyone else was up and showered. He loved saying "Egg! Egg!" whenever he found one. Grammy had also brought along a couple of hula hoops as presents for Aunt Hillary and me. Hillary is a rockstar hula-hooper. I, on the other hand, couldn't hula hoop to save my life. Ask my parents. They still have a VHS video of me before my preschool graduation attempting to hula hoop for the camera. Two shakes of the hips and that thing hits the ground. Every. Single. Time. :) But we've had fun playing other games with the hula hoops. For example, Garrett seems to think we can go to space inside of them. And so we do. :) All in all, we had a great Easter morning, worship service at church and a yummy brunch out at Ziziki's. Thank You Jesus, for saving us, and doing so in such a sacrificial way. Happy Easter!

It took a few times passing right by this egg before he found it. He would look every which way but AT the egg!

Thanks for the lift, Grandad!

Checking to make sure we found all of the real eggs...that could have been gross.

Hula Hoop Time!
